“We learn today with profound sadness of the passing of engineer Alberto Scotti, a distinguished figure who dedicated a significant part of his life to safeguarding the beauty and history of Venice.
His pragmatism and vision made possible the realization of an unprecedented engineering work, the MOSE, which today represents a symbol of hope in the fight against the increasingly dramatic effects of climate change.
A firm believer in the effectiveness of MOSE, engineer Scotti has conveyed to all of us his certainty, which has turned into a guarantee for the city’s future. Venice, for decades to come, will be protected thanks to this extraordinary work, but above all thanks to the #determination and commitment of the man who was its main architect.
His contribution will remain indelible in the history of our city, and his dedication will live on in every corner of Venice. To him goes our most sincere thanks.”
This is how VSF President Renato Brunetta condoled the passing of engineer Alberto Scotti.
