The fifth meeting of the Veneto Strategic Tourism Plan 2025-27 concluded today at the headquarters of the Padua Chamber of Commerce.
The meetings (Venice, June 25-26; Treviso, July 9-10; Padua, July 23-24), which were also attended by the Venice Sustainability Foundation (VSF) with “Sustainable Tourism” project manager Damiano De Marchi, will provide an overview of the sustainability scenarios of strategic tourism planning with which the region will be confronted for the coming years.
The seminars addressed issues related to sustainable quality, governance, destinations, innovation, enterprise and labor. Themes that underlie the drafting of the new Veneto Tourism Strategic Plan, which will outline the critical issues and future strategies of what, with 18 billion in sales, is the leading regional industry.
The Comprehensive Plan is to be approved by the Regional Council (late September early October), then presented and then officially adopted by the Regional Council.
«VSF proposed to strengthen the measurement of integrated sustainability by also enhancing existing projects in the area that VSF recognizes and facilitates. Veneto’s leadership in building travel motivations and tourism products should be maintained, putting people at the center both in terms of the host community and with other local productions. Finally, coordination actions among tourism stakeholders should be encouraged to take advantage of the challenges that current events impose: digital, economic, environmental and cultural transition», De Marchi commented.
