On September 24, 2024, the Venice Sustainability Foundation (VSF) and the European Institute for Comparative Urban Research (EURICUR), which brings together continental academies and municipalities, signed an agreement to identify joint activities in the field of comparative analysis of urban economic clusters and how they relate to the development of the metropolitan areas in which they are located.
The initiative will allow the Foundation, first of all, to gather elements on best practices referable to the urban impacts of innovation, as well as to compare with international experiences in the field of knowledge economy, the latter aspect being very useful in the framework of the development of the Venice City Campus project. In addition, the partnership will enable the development of innovative urban sustainability strategies, also with Venice as an example and laboratory.
VSF and EURICUR are also committed to fostering the exchange of knowledge and scientific papers, to jointly participate in funding programs, with a particular focus on European calls for proposals, and to organize international dissemination and exchange activities, contributing to the growth of a global network of experts and researchers.
EURICUR, with its mission to promote international comparative research on issues crucial to urban areas, is now a point of reference for academics and policy makers worldwide.
