More than two-thirds of the world’s major cities are coastal cities, vulnerable to sea-level rise and extreme weather events.
The aim of the conference is to deepen, with an eye that embraces the entire planet, the present and future sustainability of adaptation measures to the rise of sea level in the urban context; through a comparison with worldwide realities.
The event will showcase the protective measures implemented in Venice for historical buildings, residential areas, and urban spaces. It will encourage discussions and exchanges with other European cities, emphasising the value of both spontaneous and institutional networks that develop among urban centers.
The conference is organized with the support of The European House – Ambrosetti, Consorzio Venezia Nuova, CORILA, Venice Iuav University and Ve.La S.p.A.
