The 2023 edition of the “Confrontations” conference, organized by the University of Italian Switzerland, also saw the participation of the Venice Sustainability Foundation (FVCMS/VSF). In Lugano, the event titled “Social Acceptance and Sustainability: exploring the connections between Economy, Territory and Society,” sought to promote dialogue between economy, society and territory and identify public policies and innovative practices that can foster a more sustainable and shared future.
For the Foundation, Damiano De Marchi, project manager of the Objective Scenario and Sustainable Tourism thematic area, intervened by bringing the Venetian case and clarifying the variables that characterize tourism development, between impacts on the identity of territories, their sustainable management, but also the understanding of the effects that such development brings. To do this, the analysis was based on flow concentration, attractiveness of geography and degree of satisfaction of service users.
