Venice Sustainability Foundation (VSF) and Fincantieri have signed the agreement by which the company joins the partnership as co-founder member.
Fincantieri, with its know-how and specializations, already has a well-established presence in the Venice area thanks to its plants in Porto Marghera.
The Group intends to contribute its expertise particularly in the areas of Hydrogen (co-participating in the development of a hydrogen valley in Porto Marghera) and energy transition and environmental protection. This is to foster the development of new renewable energy supply chains and to bring benefits to the whole area and its energy-intensive production districts.
President of the Venice Foundation World Capital of Sustainability, Renato Brunetta, said: “The entry of Fincantieri adds great value to the network of partners the Foundation can count on to regenerate, in a sustainable way, the metropolitan socio-economic fabric”.
Pride was expressed by Fincantieri CEO and General Manager, Pierroberto Folgiero: “It is with great pride that we join as co-founding partners alongside other companies, both Italian and international. This initiative not only reinforces our commitment to sustainable innovation, but also underscores the historical link that our Group has with the territory”.
