Venice has based its fortunes on the sea; its sustainable defense does not represent an “isolation” from this dimension, but rather a relaunch of new perspectives.

In this sense, recently Venice has connected and promoted a sustainable “blue growth” approach for the Mediterranean and beyond, in which Venetian research institutes are involved, urging European commitment to scientific research and innovation.

The most recent initiatives, which mark a new approach to European research and have in this field Italian coordination, are presented and discussed in their perspectives of sustainable growth.

The conference is organized with the support of The European House – Ambrosetti, Consorzio Venezia Nuova, CORILA and Ve.La S.p.A. Our thanks to Alilaguna, San Servolo Servizi Metropolitani di Venezia and VIU for their support.
