{"id":11922,"date":"2023-12-05T21:30:29","date_gmt":"2023-12-05T19:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vsf.foundation\/?p=11922"},"modified":"2023-12-05T21:32:19","modified_gmt":"2023-12-05T19:32:19","slug":"venice-sustainability-foundation-at-cop28-in-dubai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vsf.foundation\/en\/venice-sustainability-foundation-at-cop28-in-dubai\/","title":{"rendered":"Venice Sustainability Foundation at Cop28 in Dubai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Venice Sustainability Foundation attended two appointments at the Cop28 in Dubai.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the morning, the General Director Alessandro Costa, together with Malcolm Turnbull, head of the Green Hydrogen Organization, and Deputy Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Vania Gava, presented the <\/span><b>&#8220;Venice Hydrogen Forum&#8221; to be held in Venice on February 23-25, 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The forum, designed to analyze strategies for transporting and trading hydrogen and its derivatives through pipelines and other means in the Mediterranean, was launched by the Global Renewables Hub. The goal is also to bring together for discussion major energy companies already active in the Mediterranean gas market, governments from North Africa, Southern Europe and the Middle East, as well as renewable energy and green hydrogen developers, pipeline operators, European customers and public and private financial institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the afternoon, the Foundation took part in <\/span><b>the Cop28 side event &#8220;Strengthening Urban Resilience in the face of climate change,&#8221; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">organized by UNDRR in collaboration with UN-Habitat and ICLEI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative described the efforts made by the City of Venice in reducing the negative effects of climate change, explaining what works have been put in place to defend the cultural heritage of the lagoon city, starting with the Mose.
